Peter Jotev
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy
Peter Jotev was born in Sofia on October 22, 1950.
He graduated from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia. He majored in Industrial Management and Organization in the field of Chemistry and Metallurgy. During his post graduate studies he specialized in Applied Economic and Mathematical Models for Economic Research. He specialized in Capital Markets in England, Market Economy in Prague and Financial Appraisal of Commercial Banks, International Bank Audit, Financial Appraisal Investment Projects, Tenders and Competitive Bidding for Supply of Goods and Services and Analytical Report Writing at the World Bank - Washington, USA.
He held the following positions: Expert at the Scientific Center for Economic and Mathematical Modeling and Forecasting, Chief Expert at the Institute for Analyses and Forecasts, Chief Expert and Head of Division at the Bulgarian National Bank, Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Metalsnab Holding, Project Manager at the World Bank Resident Mission in Bulgaria, Senior Manager of Banking and Corporate Finance at Ernst and Young. Since 1997 Peter Jotev has served as Executive Director of the Bank Consolidation Company. He is fluent in English and German. Married, with two children. |
