The opportunities for intensifying and deepening the trade and economic cooperation between Bulgaria and Argentina were discussed by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Irina Shtonova and Claudio Rosenzweig, Deputy Secretary for Foreign Policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Religious Affairs of Argentina.
The focus of the talks during the meeting, held at the Ministry of Economy and Industry, was the holding of the first session of the Bulgarian-Argentine Joint Commission for Bilateral Economic Cooperation.
The Argentine proposal to host the first session of the Commission this year was presented. The possibility to organize a business forum in parallel with the meeting of the Bulgarian-Argentine Commission was discussed, which will expand the opportunities for partnership between companies from both countries.
‘There is high potential for development of cooperation in different sectors. The holding of a joint commission will also be beneficial for increasing trade turnover,’ Deputy Minister Shtonova said.
In 2022 Bulgarian exports to Argentina increased by 54.7% compared to the previous year, the trade between the two countries for 2022 amounted to USD 41.89 million.
H.E. Alfredo Nestor Atanasoff, Ambassador of Argentina to the Republic of Bulgaria also took part in the discussion.
