60 companies present the new technological face of our country
Bulgaria will be a Honored Country at the 87th edition of the Thessaloniki International Fair, which will take place from 9 to 17 September at the International Exhibition and Congress Centre in Thessaloniki. This was announced at a press conference in Thessaloniki, which was attended by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Nikolay Pavlov, together with the Mayor of the city Konstantinos Zervas, the Deputy Minister of the Interior of Greece Statis Konstantinidis, the Governor of Central Macedonia Apostolos Tsitsikostas, the President of the organizer of the event TIF HELEXPO Tassos Tsikas. The national participation in the Thessaloniki International Fair is organized by the Ministry of Economy and Industry.
“Nearly 60 Bulgarian companies and organizations from different sectors will show the new technological face of Bulgaria,” said Deputy Minister Pavlov. He added that at the Bulgarian national stand in Thessaloniki will also be represented organizations and institutions, including the Bulgarian Investment Agency (BIA), the National Company of Industrial Zones (NCIZ), the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) and others. Dozens of Bulgarian companies from various sectors such as high-tech and IT, companies related to the food industry, education, transport, mechanical engineering and others will present their activities at separate stands.
“The Bulgarian Hall will be officially opened on September 9 by Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov in the presence of Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. The exhibition will also be attended by the Minister of Economy and Industry Bogdan Bogdanov, ministers and mayors.
It is planned to advertise our country in all promotional and information materials, to hold various events in Thessaloniki before and during the fair in coordination with the local authorities, to hold a series of special cultural and other events, bilateral meetings with potential partners and presentations of our country. In recent years, countries such as India – 2019, Germany – 2020, USA – 2021 and UAE – 2022 have been the Fair’s “Honored Country”.
“It’s a honor for Bulgaria to be a Honored Country at the 87th edition of the Thessaloniki International Fair. At the same time, this is a recognition of the high level the political and economic relations between Bulgaria and Greece have reached, as well as of Bulgaria’s role in the region,” Deputy Minister Nikolay Pavlov said.
He defined as extremely important the Bulgarian participation in terms of the fact that Greece is among Bulgaria’s key trade partners. We will have the opportunity to deepen the economic, investment and cultural relations between the two countries,” he emphasized. In his words, our participation creates opportunities for expanding the presence of Bulgarian business on the Greek market, creating new partnerships and increasing Bulgarian exports to Greece.
Pavlov said that within the framework of the exhibition the Ministry of Economy and Industry will organize a Greek-Bulgarian business forum, which will be opened on September 11 by the Minister of Economy and Industry Bogdan Bogdanov. Ministers from the two governments, representatives of various institutions and the business community will take part in it. During the forum, emphasis will be placed on the promotion of bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Greece in the areas of investment, innovation, infrastructure, energy, tourism, etc.
The Thessaloniki International Fair has existed for almost 100 years and for decades has been an economic hub that attracts representatives of leading industrial sectors and entrepreneurs from all over the world. It is the only and the largest socio-political and commercial-economic event of its kind in Greece, which annually brings together exhibitors, professionals, business and government representatives from Greece and neighbouring countries. Traditionally, the exhibition is attended by over 200,000 people, around 1,500 exhibitors from 19 countries including the UAE, USA, Luxembourg, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Indonesia, Ukraine, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Armenia, Iran, Italy, Poland, Serbia, Cyprus, Georgia, Romania, India, Nepal and Egypt.
