Minister Bogdanov: Even stores that are not part of “Affordable for you” offer products at better prices

According to the Minister of Economy, the initiative is developing very well

The “Affordable for You” initiative, which was launched on 15 November, is running very well. Even stores not directly involved in it offer certain products at good prices. This was explained on the air of “Hello, Bulgaria” by Minister of Economy Bogdan Bogdanov.

“For us, this is the most important thing — the overall effect for consumers. We started with three partners with 200 sites in the country. On Sunday there were already 10 partners and 350 sites. We are achieving an effect in the core product group,” he explained.

He said there was no indication that the discounts, which focused on 30-50 products, had affected prices of other products.

For our entry into Schengen:

“Europe’s competitiveness is affected by the fact that Bulgaria and Romania are not part of Schengen. The problems are many, on the one hand logistical, on the other purely financial. Yesterday we saw heavy trucks waiting for 6 hours to cross the border. We also heard from business representatives who attended the conference we organised, who said that their transports travel these 7 km sometimes for 3 days,” Bogdanov explained. He added that, according to him, Bulgaria and Romania have long fulfilled all their commitments to join the Schengen area.

“Both countries are in the top 5 in terms of GDP growth in Europe. In the first 9 months of the year alone, we have 3.1 billion investments, which shows that our region will be the basis of Europe’s economic security and development,” the Economy Minister added.
