The Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Dimitar Danchev opened today a National Meeting on Innovations in Dual Training. The Forum is organized by the Foundation for Modern Education and the Branch Chamber of Woodworking and Furniture Industry (BCWFI).
“We actively support the introduction of the work-based learning system because it is a prerequisite for providing qualified personnel for the business, attracting more foreign investment and achieving sustainable economic growth,” said Deputy Minister Danchev.
The Ministry of Economy and Industry maintains an Information Database of socially responsible employers who invest in the education and qualification of students during their vocational education and training. It includes 79 enterprises that partner with 44 vocational schools and 2 vocational training centres, he said.
Methodology for trainers of mentors in dual training and Handbook for the mentor in dual training, developed by the Bulgarian Foundation for Modern Education together with the BCWFI and partners from Spain, North Macedonia and Lithuania, were presented and discussed. The results of European and national projects supporting the national dual training system in Bulgaria were also presented.
The forum was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Maria Gaidarova, the Head of the Commercial Service at the Swiss Embassy to Bulgaria Thomas Stauffer, the Chairman of the BCWFI Prof. Vasil Zhivkov, PhD, representatives of the National Agency for Vocational Education and Training, industry and non-governmental organizations, vocational schools and vocational training centers, etc.
