The development of a nanosatellite system will provide a platform for future innovation
“The state and business are creating a whole new industry that will enable Bulgarian entrepreneurs to develop world-class applications using Bulgarian hardware.” This was said by the Minister of Economy and Industry Bogdan Bogdanov at the official opening of the renovated space research laboratory “Prof. Stefan Alexandrov” at the Faculty of Physics at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. He said the government would support EnduroSat’s programme to develop a system of nanosatellites that would provide a platform for the development of future innovations. They will focus on disaster and accident prevention, monitoring from a security and safety perspective, traffic and more. “The state in the face of Bulgarian institutions should be a springboard for businesses and people who want to create something significant,” Minister Bogdanov was adamant.
He stressed that the ultimate goal of this initiative is to create an infrastructure in which Bulgarian entrepreneurs can create world-class applications that are not just innovative solutions for Bulgaria, but solve important regional problems related to security, environment, road safety and others.

“I am convinced that when we combine our efforts we can expect good results and I believe that our joint initiative will be the successful example of cooperation between the state and business,” Bogdanov added.
The Minister of Economy inaugurated the renovated laboratory, which includes high-tech equipment and will provide competitive working conditions for the creation of the next successful space missions in Bulgaria. “The best testimonial for our work is to see that Bulgarian business succeeds and our compatriots stay to develop in our country,” Bogdanov added. The opening ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Defence Todor Tagarev and the Rector of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” prof. Anastas Gerdzhikov.
