A global manufacturer of high-tech, critical components for automotive and industrial applications will invest in new production facilities in Ruse. GEBAUER & GRILLER GROUP with headquarters in Vienna and will work as a supplier for the Bavarian automotive industry. The planned investment amounts to nearly BGN 60 million (EUR 29 million) and is expected to gradually create around 400 new jobs.
This became clear during a meeting of the Minister for Economy and Industry Bogdan Bogdanov with Dr Matthias Hornemann — Vice President of the company, and Arno Haselhorst — Executive Director of GG Group. It was also attended by Zlatomira Stefanova, Deputy Mayor ‘Economy and International Cooperation’, Ruse Municipality and the Trade Representative of Bulgaria in Bavaria Stefan Yonkov.
Minister Bogdanov stressed that the automotive industry is one of the fastest growing in the country and is among the priorities for attracting investments. He pointed out that more than 90% of the vehicles produced in Europe use critical components made in Bulgaria, with more and more companies shifting their production focus to electric vehicle components.
‘As a result of a multi-stage process, a decision was made for building an initial 13,000 m² plant in Ruse, the groundbreaking for which will take place this year. The completion of the new plant and the start of pre-series production is planned for the summer of 2024 and the start of series production — for the summer of 2025. In the long term, we are planning an investment volume of EUR 29 million here over the next 5 years and a gradual increase in the number of direct employees to around 400 and around 100 indirect employees’, Arno Haselhorst, Executive Director of GG Group, officially presented the company’s decision.
