Minister of Economy and Industry Bogdan Bogdanov awarded Amer Sports Bulgaria in the category ‘Investment in Business Expansion’ during the annual Investor of the Year 2023 Awards. The ceremony was organized by the Bulgarian Investment Agency (BIA) for the eighteenth consecutive time and honored the most significant investment projects implemented in the past year.
Minister Bogdanov presented the award to the company’s CEO Ivaylo Petrov. ‘Amer Sports is one of the largest in the world in the production of sĸi equipment. The company’s plant in Chepelare is among the largest in the world. In 2023 Amer Sports Bulgaria announced a new plan for expansion of its activities in Bulgaria. The company’s new plant is in Asenovgrad, and it was for its new project that the company received the Golden Bull statuette for ‘Investment in Business Expansion’.
‘For the first time we are changing the way Bulgaria treats priority investment projects and provides direct funding for these projects. This is the way for companies to be successful in Bulgaria, to invest in Bulgaria and to expand their business,’ Minister Bogdanov said.
Minister Bogdanov awarded Amer Sports Bulgaria for ‘Investment in business expansion ‘.He thanked the investors for their trust in Bulgaria, for creating new jobs, retraining staff, helping them to acquire new skills, investing in digitalization and green technologies. In his words, Bulgaria is becoming more and more well-known among investors around the world and in key niche industries.
This year, the competition honoured companies in the categories ‘Investor of the Year 2023’, ‘Innovative Product’, ‘Successful Start-up’, ‘Sustainable Business’, ‘Municipality in Bulgaria with the Most Investments for 2023’, ‘Low Carbon Footprint Investment’, ‘High Contribution to Regional Development’, ‘Green Investment’, ‘Investment in Human Capital’, ‘Investment in Innovative Business’ and ‘Investment in Business Expansion’.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Maria Gabriel, Minister of Innovation and Growth Milena Stoicheva, Kiril Vatev, Minister of Agriculture and Food, Minister of Environment and Water Yulian Popov, Minister of Transport Georgi Gvozdeykov and representatives of business, local authorities and diplomatic circles.
