The Minister of Economy and Industry Bogdan Bogdanov ordered 24-hour monitoring of the dams on the territory of the country, for which the State Agency for Metrological and Technical Surveillance (DAMTN) carries out control under the Water Act for the implementation of the measures provided by the owners for their safe operation and the proper technical condition of their dams and their facilities.
Due to the heavy rains in many districts of the country, the recorded amounts of rainfall and the forecast received from the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology for dangerous phenomena and impending floods, Minister Bogdanov ordered the monitoring of the dams.
DAMTN will be in continuous contact with all structures that are relevant and monitor the condition and water levels in the dams.
All preventive measures have been taken, as a result of which the water volumes of the dams are monitored around the clock.
To date, no emergencies have occurred with the dams and their facilities at the dams controlled by DAMTN.
