Foreign direct investment grew by more than 70% last year. The trend continues to be positive and for the first 3 months of this year alone the increase is still close to 10%. This was stated by the Minister of Economy and Industry Bogdan Bogdanov during the fourth edition of Business Networking Evening: Europe&Beyond 2023, organized by ten bilateral chambers of commerce in Bulgaria. In his words, this result would not have been possible without the joint efforts to improve economic relations.
‘Over the past year we have organized numerous events together with the chambers of commerce to promote Bulgaria as an investment destination. I am sure that we will continue our partnership even more actively,’ the Minster of Economy said. According to him, Bulgaria is a place where successful business can be done.
‘We have the highest exports in the European Union for 2022. We increased exports with our strategic trading partners by more than 30% last year and this is confirmed by the data for the first 3 months of this year,’ Minister Bogdanov said. He also stressed that last year Bulgarian industrial production was the second fastest growing in the EU.
‘In the face of the Ministry of Economy and Industry, the chambers of commerce and foreign businesses will find a reliable partner, strong support and opportunities to develop and expand their business in Bulgaria and in the region,’ the Minister of Economy told the business community.
The event was also attended by the Minister of Innovation and Growth Milena Stoycheva, ambassadors and representatives of bilateral chambers of commerce in Bulgaria.
