Minister Bogdanov met with the Ambassador of Georgia

Minister of Economy and Industry Bogdan Bogdanov held a meeting with the Ambassador of Georgia to Bulgaria H.E. Otar Berdzenishvili. The bilateral trade and economic relations and the promotion of business relations between the two countries were discussed at the meeting. Deputy Minister Nikolay Pavlov also participated in the talks.

The good level of the bilateral economic relations was noted, as well as their potential for development and expansion of Bulgarian exports to Georgia. Our country is among Georgia’s main trading partners in the EU, it became clear at the meeting.

The Minister of Economy and Industry and the Ambassador of Georgia discussed the opportunities for increasing the trade between the countries and sectors of mutual interest — development of transport infrastructure, tourism, IT sector, supply of food industry goods, etc.

Among the highlights of the talks were the opportunities for development of cooperation in diversifying energy supplies, further development of bilateral transport and digital connectivity, as well as the potential of the Black Sea as an alternative to the land transport corridors between Europe and Asia.

They discussed the organization of business missions and participation of potential entrepreneurs and investors in exhibitions and fairs in Bulgaria and Georgia.

Trade between Bulgaria and Georgia in the first quarter of 2023 reached nearly USD 139 million.
