Bogdanov participates in an online meeting of EU Economy Ministers and Commissioner Breton
It is important to ensure affordable electricity prices for businesses so that they can maintain and build on their competitiveness. This was stated by Minister of Economy and Industry Bogdan Bogdanov during an online meeting with EU Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton and EU Economy Ministers.
During the meeting, the state of PV systems in the Member States was discussed. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the European Solar Photovoltaic Industry Alliance. The focus was on increasing the value of European production. The aim of the meeting was to look at the current challenges and possible solutions for the return of solar PV production in Europe.
The Minister of Economy and Industry stressed that the countries should be united and act together when taking important decisions for Europe, taking into account the available resources and advantages of each country.
Bogdanov pointed out that the goals set in Europe for the green transition should not be at the expense of business.
The ministerial meeting on the European solar photovoltaic (PV) industry was held under the auspices of the European Solar Photovoltaic Industry Alliance and hosted by Commissioner Thierry Breton.
It was attended by ministers from the European Union as well as representatives from the European Investment Bank and the European photovoltaic sector.
Member States’ representatives exchanged and shared best practices for mobilising existing financial instruments at national and Union level.
