Starting today, basic salaries at VMZ-Sopot will increase by 8 percent
As of July 1, basic salaries at Vazovski Machine-Building Plants EAD (VMZ) in Sopot will be increased by 8 percent. The decision was made at the end of May at a meeting of the Board of Directors of the state-owned company under the Ministry of Economy and Industry, following negotiations with the trade unions of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions of Bulgaria and the Confederation of Labour Podkrepa.
“We are actively working to ensure that VMZ continues to modernize and develop by expanding and upgrading existing production capacities, as well as to provide sustainable jobs and higher wages,” commented the Minister of Economy and Industry Peter Dilov.
He emphasised that VMZ is a structurally significant enterprise for the military-industrial complex and plays a key role in both national security and the country’s economy.
The Executive Director of VMZ, Eng. Ivan Getsov pointed out that the company is also making efforts to improve working conditions through a large-scale investment program. He noted that the production units at the Iganovo site are in the process of reconstruction and modernization.
Two new production facilities will soon be put into operation at the VMZ-Sopot site. They are intended for the production of artillery ammunition and have modern high-performance equipment, which will increase the capacity of the production of mechanical parts for the final product.
