Czech investments in Bulgaria total nearly half a billion euros.
The Minister of Economy and Industry, Peter Dilov, held a meeting with the leadership of the newly established Bulgarian-Czech Chamber of Commerce. The discussion focused on opportunities to strengthen bilateral economic relations between Bulgaria and the Czech Republic.
“In recent years, our economic ties have shown steady growth, but the potential for even closer cooperation remains significant,” stated Minister Dilov.
He expressed confidence that the joint efforts of Bulgarian and Czech companies would contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of both economies, particularly in sectors such as industrial innovation, energy, high-tech manufacturing, and sustainable development.
During the meeting, it was noted that the Chamber will serve not only as an active intermediary between the two countries, but also as a platform for institutional dialogue between their respective government bodies.
Within the framework of the meeting, the Chairman of the Bulgarian-Czech Chamber of Commerce, Maxim Behar, emphasised that a key priority for the organisation will be the proactive promotion of Bulgaria’s investment advantages.
“There is great potential to increase Czech investments. We aim to promote Bulgaria to Czech companies, especially the opportunities within the Bulgarian industrial sector,” he stated.
According to preliminary data from the Bulgarian National Bank, total investments from the Czech Republic in Bulgaria amount to €486.2 million.
Also present at the meeting were the Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry, Dontcho Barbalov, Jan Jindřich, Deputy Ambassador of the Czech Republic, as well as representatives of the Bulgarian-Czech Chamber of Commerce.
