France Ranks as Bulgaria’s Sixth-Largest Export Market

Minister of Economy and Industry Peter Dilov met with Stéphane Delahaye, Chair of the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Vessela Todorova-Mosettig, the Chamber’s Director.

They discussed opportunities for joint initiatives and collaboration that will help position Bulgaria as an attractive place for business and investment.

During the meeting, the participants spoke about energising relations between Bulgaria and France, highlighting trade, investments, tourism and energy among the sectors with the greatest potential.

Minister Dilov and the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce will work together to present Bulgaria as an attractive place for business and investment.

Minister Dilov emphasised that deepening trade and economic ties with France, as a traditional partner of Bulgaria, is a priority. “France is our sixth-largest market in terms of exports,” the Economy Minister said.

He noted that Bulgaria’s trade balance with France is traditionally positive, with bilateral trade exceeding EUR 2.1 billion in the first ten months of 2024.

During the meeting upcoming business forums in France were discussed, which aim to promote Bulgaria as a destination for investment and business among French entrepreneurs.

“We rely on the support of the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to further expand the presence of French business in our country,” the Economy Minister said.

In turn, Mr. Delahaye, Chair of the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that French companies are interested in investing in Bulgaria, and their number is expected to keep growing.
