Minister Dilov and Employers’ Organizations Will Work Together to Improve the Business Environment and Accelerate Economic Growth

Minister of Economy and Industry Peter Dilov and employers’ organizations in Bulgaria will work jointly to improve the country’s business climate, accelerate economic growth, and reduce the administrative burden on businesses. This was announced during a meeting between the Minister of Economy and his team and representatives of the organizations that are members of the Association of the Organizations of Bulgarian Employers (AOBR).

During the discussion, they addressed key challenges for the sector, including reviewing regulatory regimes, reducing bureaucratic burdens, restoring macroeconomic stability in the country, and providing support to ensure that Bulgarian industry remains competitive.

Employers expressed strong support for Bulgaria’s entry into the eurozone and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), for which the Ministry of Economy plays a leading role.

They also discussed the need to preserve Bulgaria’s existing tax model, considered one of the major advantages of the Bulgarian economy.

The parties agreed to renew and enhance the work of the National Economic Council (NEC) under the Minister of Economy and Industry. They decided to create a specific plan with priorities and deadlines to be included in the NEC’s agenda. During the meeting, it was noted that the Council is a valuable tool for implementing measures to improve the country’s business environment.

Minister Dilov highlighted that among the government’s priorities is restoring trust in Bulgaria as a reliable economic partner and a promising location for investment and business. “We will follow the priorities at the EU level and work actively together to attract investments, digitize enterprises, and address regional imbalances,” he added.

The Minister said maximum efforts will be made to address both short-term issues and initiate long-term initiatives aimed at improving the country’s economic situation. “It is extremely important for us to work in close cooperation with employer organizations; we rely on your expertise,” the Minister of Economy affirmed.
