The benefits for Bulgaria of joining the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) will unlock the potential of the Bulgarian economy.
This was stated by the Minister of Economy and Industry, Peter Dilov, who took part in an event at the Council of Ministers at which the OECD Secretary-General, Mathias Cormann, presented the Organisation’s annual Economic Survey of Bulgaria.
The OECD Economic Survey contains policy recommendations aimed at supporting the country’s long-term prosperity.
The event also highlighted Bulgaria’s progress towards membership of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.
“I am confident that adopting the OECD’s values and best practices will send a strong signal to our trading partners and international investors,” the Minister of Economy further emphasised.
According to him, Bulgaria’s accession to the OECD will strengthen investor confidence and contribute to economic growth.
For his part, Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov stated that membership of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is the next major economic and political objective for Bulgarian society. He noted that this objective has enjoyed the support of every government since the launch of the Coordination Mechanism in 2018.
Also attending the presentation of the annual Economic Survey of Bulgaria were the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Georg Georgiev, and the Minister of Finance, Temenuzhka Petkova.
