Minister of Economy and Industry Nikola Stojanov met with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran H.E. Seyyed Mohammad Javad Rassouli, who is finishing his term in Bulgaria. They discussed the current state of economic relations between the countries, as well as the opportunities for trade and investment development.
Minister Stojanov thanked the Iranian Ambassador for the good cooperation that the Ministry of Economy and Industry has had with the Embassy of Iran during his almost 5-year term in our country. H.E. Seyyed Mohammad Javad Rassouli said that even after his departure from Bulgaria he would always continue to work for the development of bilateral relations.
Minister Stojanov and H.E. Rasouli emphasized on the fact that despite the difficulties caused by the Covid-19 and the slow recovery of the world economy from the pandemic, the two countries have made good progress in their bilateral trade and economic relations.
‘This year marks the 125th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and during this time Iran has established itself as an important partner for Bulgaria,’ Minister Stojanov said. Sectors with potential for trade cooperation were also discussed during the meeting, including: pharmaceutical, food, chemical, automotive, information technology, etc.
