The trade between Bulgaria and Albania has grown by over 20%. This became clear during a meeting between the Minister of Economy and Industry Nikola Stojanov and the Ambassador of the Republic of Albania H.E. Donika Hoxha.

‘Albania is one of Bulgaria’s promising partners in the Western Balkans region in the field of trade and investment,’ Minister Stojanov emphasized. In his words, the bilateral trade in 2022 is approaching EUR 190 million, but these are very low figures given the potential of the two countries.

The focus of the talks was on areas of cooperation of mutual interest, including infrastructure, electrical engineering, food industry, tourism, pharmaceuticals, textile industry, etc.

During the meeting the issue of organizing a session of the Bulgarian-Albanian Intergovernmental Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation to be held jointly with a business forum was also raised.
