Over 30 thousand new small and medium-sized enterprises are created in Bulgaria every year. This was said by the Minister of Economy and Industry Nikola Stojanov during the award ceremony of the winners of the “Large Small” competition.
“The data on the newly formed enterprises clearly show that Bulgarians are entrepreneurial and looking for success. It is our responsibility to create the conditions for the best of them to gain strength and become the new large ones,” Minister Stojanov stressed. According to him, such competitions are also an incentive for companies to look for all opportunities to be more competitive and to show their achievements.
“Nearly 1.5 million Bulgarians work in small and medium-sized enterprises,” Minister Stojanov said, adding that these companies are not just the backbone of the economy, but are also the instrument that proves that they can generate economic growth, even in times of crisis.
Minister Stojanov invited all the finalists to a meeting at the Ministry of Economy and Industry to continue the conversation, to discuss their development plans and possible problems they encounter and for which the state can assist them.
The Minister of Economy and Industry awarded a prize in the category “Social Entrepreneurship” to “Rabotosposobni.bg” – a specialized platform that helps disadvantaged people to find their professional realization.
The ceremony was attended by the Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria Iliana Iotova and the Minister of Innovation and Growth Alexander Pulev.
The event is organized for the eighth consecutive year by the “24 hours” Newspaper.
