Amidst various ongoing crises and slowing growth in most European economies, the Bulgarian economy shows stability and growth. In the third quarter of 2024, our economy grew by 2.2% compared to the same period last year.
Minister of Economy and Industry, Petko Nikolov, made this statement at the official ceremony for the annual economic achievement awards, organized by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Dr. Nikolov noted that in the European Commission’s new autumn forecasts, the growth projection for the Bulgarian economy for this year and next year has been revised upward.
He noted the positive economic growth in the third quarter, placing Bulgaria among the top six EU countries in this regard.
Minister Nikolov thanked the business sector for these results. He said that the main force behind our economy is the companies working in the country, which help achieve this growth.
“To improve the business environment, the Ministry of Economy and Industry is focused on reducing administrative and regulatory burdens, streamlining procedures, increasing the market presence of Bulgarian producers, and providing better access to foreign markets,” he said.
Minister Nikolov stressed the strong partnership between the Ministry of Economy and the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), noting that improving dialogue and cooperation between the government and businesses will help create more effective policies to sustainably boost the Bulgarian economy.
