Opportunities for intensifying foreign economic cooperation between Bulgaria and France were discussed during a meeting between the Minister of Economy and Industry Nikola Stojanov and the new Ambassador of the Republic of France H.E. Joël Meyer.
Minister Stojanov pointed out that France is among the leading trade partners of Bulgaria in Europe and as a proof of this he pointed out the trade between the two countries, which in 2021 will grow by more than 17% compared to 2022 and amount to 2.2 billion euros. The total direct investment from France in Bulgaria amounts to over 1 billion euros.
During the conversation, the Minister of Economy highlighted the recent meeting with French investors in the format of “breakfast with business”, which was supported by the Embassy of France and the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. “For me, this was a very productive and decision-oriented discussion and I hope that together we will identify additional measures to boost bilateral economic ties,” Nikola Stojanov stressed.
The two sides agreed to work towards more bilateral business meetings in areas of mutual interest.
