Economy Minister Bojidar Loukarsky met today with the management of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce Mnd Industry. Tsvetan Simeonov, the Chairperson of BCCI, Lachezar Iskrov and Evgeni Evgeniev, Members of Board of Directors, also took part in the meeting.
The Chairperson of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov pointed out the problems that should be resolved as to achieve effective and transparent economic development. Some of the questions that were put to the Minister for consideration concerned the administrative reform, acceleration of e-government, expansion of international contacts, export promotion, transparency in public procurement and limitation of monopolies as well as measures that should be taken by the government to reduce administrative burden for businesses. Tsvetan Simeonov emphasized that one of the objectives of the organization is to get Bulgaria ahead in the rankings for doing business.
Minister Loukarsky announced that the Council for Economic Growth (CEG) would resume its activity to discuss and solve pending issues with employers. The Council will include representatives of the Ministry, employers’ organizations and of Parliament’s Economic Committee. Minister Loukarsky invited members of the BCCI to participate in the regular meetings of the Council for Economic Growth.
