The Minister of Economy Teodor Sedlarski visited the Siemens Centre for Innovations in Building Technology in Bulgaria during a working visit today. Minister Sedlarski and the management team discussed issues related to the modernization of industry and energy utilities, digitization and ways of making young people stay in the country. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Economy Lachezar Borissov, the Chief Executive Officer Dr. Eng. Boryana Manolova, the Chief Financial Officer Orlin Alexandrov and heads of divisions at Siemens Bulgaria.

"We are extremely pleased that you are our guest and that we have the opportunity to introduce long-lived traditions of Siemens in Bulgaria, as well as the latest achievements of the company", said Dr. Eng. Boryana Manolova in her address. She presented to the Minister the history of the company in Bulgaria, beginning from the Liberation. Some of the largest projects of the company were also presented in the areas where the company focuses today - energy, industry, building technology and transport. "Siemens Bulgaria is behind some of the most iconic technological innovations in our country in the years after the Liberation. We are proud that our technologies and products continue to this day to contribute to the modernization and development of Bulgarian economy”, said Dr. Eng. Boryana Manolova.

Within the working visit Minister Sedlarski noted that the Ministry of Economy and Siemens Bulgaria have many common topics on which they work together. "Amongst them are industry 4.0, the implementation of high technology in all spheres of economy, promoting the career development of young people in our country", said the Minister of Economy.

The heads of divisions in turn acquainted Minister Sedlarski with the highlights and specifics of the businesses they guide. Among the topics that were discussed during the meeting were the need for much closer relationship between business and education. Siemens Bulgaria already partners with a number of educational institutions – both, technical universities and high schools, which contributes to the better training and subsequently, the professional realization of students.

In connection with the retention of young professionals in Bulgaria, Minister Sedlarski pointed out that the reason for his visit to the country's leading companies is to get acquainted and to promote existing opportunities for professional development of young people in Bulgaria.

During his visit, Minister Teodor Sedlarski visited the Centre for Innovations in Building Technologies - one of the most dynamic and innovative units of the company, which works on Siemens projects worldwide. He was briefed on the latest developments of the Centre in the field of building automation, such as the Desigo CC system.

"The state and business cannot live without each other, and the constructive dialogue between them is the foundation for economic prosperity. Therefore we are happy that we were able to show Minister Sedlarski the wide range of reliable technologies, products and solutions that Siemens offers on the Bulgarian market, as well as some of the most innovative projects of the company", said Dr. Eng. Boryana Manolova in conclusion.
