When the entrepreneurship and the innovations meet the professionalism, results are achieved. “In Bulgaria, the circular economy is rapidly developing, despite the difficult pandemic situation”. This was stated by the Minister of Economy Daniela Vezieva, today in the city of Plovdiv, at the opening of the first innovative fabric in Europe for biodegradable edible coffee cups.
According to her, the Ministry of Economy is focused on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises with potential for export and innovation development, as a main factor for sustainable growth and increasing the added value in the economy. “I will be happy for the new measures that we are about to reveal, for companies like this to apply” she said
“30 people and 3 machines already work at the enterprise” the Executive Director Miroslav Zapryanov stated. They produce 2.5 million edible cups per month. The company’s ambitions are to purchase 3 more machines, with the help of which the turnover will increase to 10 million units per month.
The Cupffee fabric is located in “Trakiya” Industrial Zone in the city of Plovdiv. The cups are available in over 30 countries around the world. The main goal is to reduce the large amount of waste of plastic cups that decompose.
The site has an area of 3600 square meters and the world’s first automatic assembly line for biodegradable coffee cups.
Among the official guests of the event were the Mayor of Plovdiv Zdravko Dimitrov, the Mayor of “Trakiya” Region Kostadin Dimitrov, foreign guests and investors, business partners of the company.
