The Union includes a number of the most prominent scholars in the field of economics in Bulgaria

The Ministry of Economy and Industry launched a strategic partnership with the Union of Economists in Bulgaria. This was agreed during a meeting of the Minister of Economy and Industry Nikola Stoyanov with the organization. The Union includes some of the most eminent scientists in the field and will assist the institution in shaping policies and strategies for the development of the sector.

Regular meetings are to be held between the Union and the Ministry and the aim is to involve the scientific community in shaping the institution’s policies. “We can have sustainable results only when institutions, business and academia work in close cooperation,” Minister Stoyanov stressed. He said that in recent months all opportunities have been consistently sought to engage scientists in the work of his ministry. “I hope that the strategic partnership we are starting today will be preserved and built upon in the future,” Nikola Stoyanov added.

On behalf of the scientific organization, they presented to Minister Stoyanov a White Paper for a New Economy 2022-2023. The scientific edition includes a number of topical economic issues including smart industry, low carbon economy, digital and transport connectivity, business network for Bulgarians around the world, coastal and maritime economy of Bulgaria, etc. They committed to actively participate in the work of the institution voluntarily and free of charge.

“Constructive dialogue between the state and scientific organisations is mandatory to achieve good results in the sector. We will rely on the Union’s expert analyses on all key issues for the Bulgarian economy,” Minister Stoyanov said.
