The Ministry of Economy and Industry Will Partner with Academia in Shaping Policies and Strategies in the Sector

The Ministry of Economy and Industry and the Union of Economists in Bulgaria start joint work on the policies and strategies in the economic sector. Today the Minister of Economy and Industry Nikola Stojanov and the President of the Union Prof. Dr. Tatiana Hubenova-Delisivkova signed a Memorandum of Strategic Partnership. A number of the most prominent economics scholars in Bulgaria participate in the organization.

‘Today we are setting the framework for our cooperation and I believe that with the support of the scientific and professional circles, we will achieve a higher added value,’ Minister Stojanov stressed. In his words, the problems and challenges facing the Bulgarian economy must be analysed comprehensively and at a high professional level, which is why cooperation with the Union is so important. The Ministry of Economy and Industry and the Union of Economists will hold regular meetings and work together on policies related to the economic environment in Bulgaria, consumer protection, dual training, Bulgaria’s foreign and trade policy, as well as the transformation of the Bulgarian economy in the transition to Industry 4.0 and climate neutrality.

‘It is up to us to create the preconditions for the modernisation and competitiveness of the Bulgarian economy so that more young people stay in Bulgaria and to bring back those who are working abroad today,’ the economy minister said. The President of the Union Prof. Dr. Tatiana Hubenova-Delisivkova said that there is a need to achieve higher quality and better evaluation of labour in the field of economy and they are working consistently on this topic.

The official signing was also attended by Prof. Doctor of Economic Science Neno Pavlov, Deputy Chairman of the Bulgarian Economists Union (BEU), Dr. Eng. Petar Neychev, Vice-Chairman of the BEU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vladimir Zanoviev, Director of the Scientific Research Centre for Energy Business and Infrastructure of the UNWE; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Victor Yotsov, Member of the BEU and the Institute of Energy Research at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Assoc. dr. Petya Branzova, member of the BEU and the Institute of Energy Research at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Prof. Dr. Yana Palova, member of the BEU and the Institute of Energy Research at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, and Venelin Yordanov, member of the BEU Board and Executive Director of Plovdiv Tech Park PLC.
