More than 4 500 Jobs Have Been Created in One of the New Industrial Centres Being Built near Sofia. This was said by the Minister of Economy and Industry Nikola Stojanov during the conference ‘Investment and Development of Kostinbrod’. In his words, the municipality is becoming an increasingly strong centre of attraction for people from the whole region, and the accelerated economic development is the reason why even Bulgarians from the border regions in Serbia travel here daily for work.
‘This is becoming one of the manufacturing centres of the region, due to the great investor interest, several industrial zones are being established in the municipality,’ Nikola Stojanov said. The Minister of Economy stressed that their entry in the Register of Industrial Parks will provide new opportunities for financing in the future and urged companies to take this administrative step. ‘This will not create obligations to you, but will give you new opportunities for development,’ Stojanov explained.
The realized investments in the region of Kostinbrod are over BGN 200 million, and in addition to that one of the largest employers in the region — Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria has invested about BGN 100 million in its production base, it became clear during the event. New projects worth BGN 52 million are also underway, which will open additional jobs. In this regard, Minister Stojanov said that the Ministry of Economy and Industry is ready to support the municipality of Kostinbrod to hold job fairs or information events to present the opportunities for employment in the region.
During the event, Minister Nikola Stojanov answered questions from business representatives related to the introduction of the Euro, improving transport connectivity, energy supply, etc.
The forum, organized by Euronews Bulgaria, aims to bring together all stakeholders to discuss current issues, solutions and trends in the development of business, property market and infrastructure of the city and the entire municipality. Today’s event was attended by more than 100 representatives of the business, investors and others, and the official opening was attended by the Mayor of Kostinbrod Trayko Mladenov.
