Labor Unions and LB Bulgaricum Management Sign Collective Bargaining Agreement

Following the commitments made by the Minister of Economy and Industry, Dr. Petko Nikolov, to improve working conditions and compensation for employees at LB Bulgaricum, the company’s management and representatives from all labor unions have signed a new Collective Bargaining Agreement for the next two years. This agreement commits both parties to work together on boosting labor productivity, increasing salary funds, and improving occupational health and safety, along with conditions for social activities.

The presidents of the three labor unions at LB Bulgaricum and the management have agreed to focus on preserving jobs, improving employee skills, and modernizing the company. Social benefits have been retained, such as additional medical services, extra paid annual leave for mothers with children, transportation allowances, and increased financial support for employees with newborns. Severance pay for long-term employees is still provided, along with provisions for work attire and extra monthly compensation for employees with academic degrees, among other benefits.

“We achieved excellent results in our negotiations with management, securing social benefits we can be proud of,” said Petar Petrov, Chair of the Labor Union Organization at the Association of Democratic Unions in LB Bulgaricum, Vidin. He also mentioned that the labor unions successfully negotiated a substantial salary increase for the company’s workers and researchers.

“We managed to keep the collective bargaining agreement, which is one of the best. Employees are pleased because the company’s management has addressed our demands,” said Ivan Spiridonov, Chair of the Labor Union Organization within the Federation of Independent Labor Unions in the Food Industry – CITUB in Vidin.

Mihaela Mihaylova, Chair of the Labor Union Organization at the Food Industry Federation – Confederation of Labor Podkrepa in LB Bulgaricum – Sofia, expressed gratitude to the management for the discussions conducted in a spirit of mutual understanding. She noted the continued tradition of providing extra medical services to the company’s employees.

“We achieved favorable results and are satisfied with the negotiations with the management,” said Valentina Pavlova, Chairperson of the Labor Union Organization at the Association of Democratic Unions in LB Bulgaricum in Sofia.

LB Bulgaricum CEO Zhivko Zhivkov also expressed gratitude to the representatives of the labor unions for the constructive negotiations. “I value the knowledge and skills of each team member. Following the signing of the collective bargaining agreement, our joint efforts are focused on achieving the new objectives we have set,” he remarked.
