“We want OPIC to reach the Bulgarian business not only as a form of adoption funds but also as a factor to increase the competitiveness of the Bulgarian business. 24 projects amounting to more than BGN 26 million were successfully completed for the business companies in Lovech municipality under the Operational programme “Development of competitiveness of Bulgarian economy /OPDCBE / 2007-2014 “. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of economy Lujben Petrov during a meeting with the business and the municipality management in Lovech. The number of procedures for technological modernization is the biggest one – 15 projects “During the new programming period under the first OPIC procedure on improving the production capacity in SMEs there are 14 concluded contracts until now“, the Deputy Minister of added and underlined that he hopes that the gap of the region regarding the absorption of European funds will be compensated during the new programme period. “We want OPIC to reach the Bulgarian business not only as a form of adoption funds but also as a factor to increase the competitiveness of the Bulgarian business “, the Deputy Minister Lujben Petrov said.

“We are her as we want to hear the voice of business in order to timely remove the clumsy procedures that impede the Bulgarian business. Now the moment is for the Bulgarian economy to start working at higher speed“ the Deputy Minister Petrov also said and appealed for more active participation of Lovech business .

Earlier today, Deputy Minister of economy saw the manufacturing facilities of furniture company “Riko Stil” EOOD in the town of Troyan. The factory is a beneficiary under the Operational programme “Innovation and competitiveness“ /OPIC/ and starts the implementation of project for increasing the productivity amounting to BGN 1 160 867. The enterprise is manufacturing chairs and tables totally for foreign markets. The Deputy Minister Petrov visited also the furniture enterprise “Nikrom trubna mebel” in Lovech which operates as a supplier of IKEA chain.
