Our trade with Kazakhstan in 2023 grew by nearly 18% and reached USD 103.5 million. This became clear during a meeting between the Minister of Economy and Industry Dr. Petko Nikolov and the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Bulgaria H.E. Viktor Temirbayev.

They discussed the opportunities for expanding economic cooperation and strengthening trade ties between the countries. Issues related to the development of transport corridors between Europe and Asia were also discussed, highlighting the strategic location of the two countries.

It became clear from the talks that the Kazakh side is interested in deepening cooperation with Bulgaria in the energy sector between Bulgarian and Kazakh companies, as well as in the information technology and agriculture sectors. “We are actively working for the creation of more partnerships between Bulgarian companies and foreign businesses, because this is a prerequisite for increasing trade and a wider representation of foreign companies in our country,” said Dr. Petko Nikolov.
