We are taking concrete steps to diversify the economy. This is a clear national priority, and it is precisely for this reason that we are seeking new opportunities for economic and investment partnership with countries in Asia and the Middle and Far East.
This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Investments and Industry Alexander Poulev during a meeting with H.E. Ms Listiana Operananta, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Bulgaria.
The meeting highlighted the significant potential for deepening economic relations between Bulgaria and Indonesia. “As the largest economy in Southeast Asia, Indonesia is a promising partner for Bulgaria in expanding trade and investment links in the region,” Poulev noted.
Specific opportunities for technology transfer, investment and joint production were discussed. The focus is on high-value-added sectors – high technology, space and satellite technology, drones and related services, logistics and industry.
“There is very strong interest on Indonesia’s part in technology transfer that would allow innovative Bulgarian companies to establish a production base in Indonesia,” the Minister noted.
According to him, Bulgaria and Indonesia have the opportunity to build on the existing dialogue with concrete initiatives to promote investment and technological partnerships. “Our country will continue working to attract new investment and to create conditions for Bulgarian business to expand its presence in promising international markets,” he added.
Minister Poulev and the Indonesian Ambassador to Bulgaria agreed that deepening bilateral economic partnership is an opportunity to turn existing potential into concrete investments, production and technological partnerships.
