The introduction of the euro is currently one of the government’s priority topics. At the Ministry of Economy and Industry we are monitoring a number of goods that generate costs for businesses, as well as interest rates. So far, we do not see conditions that would give rise to concern. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Dontcho Barbalov during the tenth round table on “Prospects, Challenges and Vision for the Development of the Construction Sector.” He emphasised that, together with the European Commission, work is underway to protect European businesses, which are under pressure from imports of goods at dumping prices. “We are striving to protect the Bulgarian interest. Look at us as an ally and consider how we can present your activities in other countries,” Deputy Minister Barbalov said.
During the conference, he highlighted that in today’s dynamic business climate, companies need to be flexible, innovative and efficient in order to remain competitive and achieve sustainable growth.
According to him, the experience accumulated in Bulgaria can also be applied abroad. “The Ministry of Economy and Industry, together with our commercial representatives overseas, will promote Bulgarian business and services internationally,” he added.
In conclusion, Deputy Minister Barbalov assured the organisers, participants and guests of the event that, as before, the Ministry of Economy and Industry will continue to be an active partner and that they will always have institutional support in addressing existing challenges.
