Deputy Minister Barbalov: The goal of the eurozone is to improve the quality of life

The goal of the eurozone is to improve the quality of life. It’s normal for people to have their worries about entering the eurozone. The Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Dontcho Barbalov stated in an interview for the Brussels 1 show on Bulgaria ON AIR.

“We have already received many of the benefits on a personal level, but now we have to take the last step to be able to become a member of the European family. From a small peripheral country in Europe, Bulgaria will become part of the large European family, joining over 200 million people who share common values, use the same currency and have freedom of movement – for both goods and people,” Barbalov summarized.

According to him, a gradual income increase and economic growth are expected in the medium term, which will contribute to an additional income increase. “Efforts are being made to bring the quality of life closer to the European level – that is the goal,” he added.

“Ultimately, this is a significant change in the way we make payments in this country and it is good to have as much information as possible so that everyone can get their questions answered. There are no bad questions here, different people are worried about different things,” Barbalov commented.
