Dr. David Sukalinski, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry, participated in the 42nd ceremony for induction of distinguished inventors and discoverers into the Golden Book of the Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria. He awarded an honorary certificate for entry into the Golden Book to Prof. Dr. Eng. Avgust Yordanov Ivanov, who is a co-inventor of 31 patents and serves as the Director of the Institute of Robotics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Prof. Ivanov has over 35 years of experience in robotics, sensor technology, artificial intelligence, and nano- and micro-technologies.
During the event, Dr. David Sukalinski expressed his satisfaction that the Patent Office has successfully upheld the tradition of annually recognizing Bulgarian scientists over the years. “This award is unique and highly prestigious, honoring discoverers, inventors, and breeders who have made significant contributions to science, society, and progress,” he noted.
The Deputy Minister of Economy thanked the Bulgarian scientists, stating that this century is clearly the era of knowledge and innovation. “In this regard, I thank the scientific communities for advancing science to a level that makes us competitive, capable, and knowledgeable on the global stage. These achievements undoubtedly fill us with national pride and assure us that we are ready for global challenges,” Dr. David Sukalinski said.
The ceremony was attended by the President of the Patent Office, Olya Dimitrova, the Head of the Competence Center QUASAR, Academician Chavdar Rumenin, the Head of the Section “Sensors and Measurement Technologies in Robotics and Mechatronics” at the Institute of Robotics, Professor Dr. Siya Lozanova, representatives from state institutions, employers’ organizations, and members of the jury, who recognized the latest outstanding Bulgarian scientists and inventors in the Golden Book.
