Deputy Minister David Sukalinski Attends an Armored Vehicle Factory Opening in Burgas Industrial and Logistics Park

Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry, Dr. David Sukalinski, attended the opening of the country’s largest armored vehicle factory, owned by International Armored Group BG (IAG BG), part of the global International Armored Group. The factory is situated in the Industrial and Logistics Park in Burgas and will manufacture over 160 types of equipment. It is planned that mainly Bulgarian specialists will be employed at the production base. The initial investment is projected to exceed BGN 20 million, creating over 300 jobs.

It is the first investment of IAG BG in Bulgaria, completed on an industrial site of the National Company Industrial Zones EAD (NCIZ) portfolio. In the summer of 2024, the company acquired a second site near Simitli from NCIZ, with a planned investment of 5 million BGN. The investment is expected to create 25 jobs.

International Armored Group is a global leader in manufacturing fully protected armored vehicles. The company supplies specialized machinery to governmental organizations like the UN, NATO, and others and has manufacturing facilities in countries worldwide. At its Burgas plant, the company will produce a range of armored vehicles meeting NATO standards, drones for rescue and emergency missions, light patrol vehicles, and more.

Among the official guests at the opening ceremony of the Burgas plant were the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, the Mayor of Burgas, Dimitar Nikolov, representatives from the National Company Industrial Zones (NCIZ), and others.
