Deputy Minister Dimitar Danchev Congratulated the Students of Huawei’s Scholarship Program Focusing on Economics, Science and Technology

We expect the Information and Communication Technologies sector to lead the Bulgarian economy in terms of revenues within five years. This was predicted by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Dimitar Danchev during the Annual Closing Ceremony of the ‘Huawei ICT Talents Training Seeds For The Future’ Scholarship Program, which took place today in Sofia.

‘The main priority in the work of the ministry is to promote investment and stimulate the creation and development of sustainable enterprises in high-tech industrial production and knowledge-intensive services, and achieving this is impossible without qualified personnel,’ said Dimitar Danchev. According to him, the ICT sector is becoming increasingly attractive for young people in Bulgaria and it is important that they have access to quality education and gain practical skills to be competitive in the increasingly digitalized business environment.

Deputy Minister Danchev congratulated Huawei Technologies Bulgaria for the initiative to open and give the opportunity to talented Bulgarian students to join the Program, which provides free access to a platform with 47 courses in the field of science, technology and economics. ‘This is a huge chance for them to gain solid knowledge about cutting-edge innovations and smart technologies that they can apply in their development,’ said Danchev. In his words, the Ministry of Economy and Industry will continue to support and encourage all initiatives of companies in the country for the development of the young generation and for its specialized and high-quality training.
