The series of regular meetings between Deputy Minister Nevena Lazarova and representatives of Bulgaria’s metallurgical industry and defence sector continues
A working meeting was held at the Ministry of Economy and Industry between Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Nevena Lazarova, representatives of the Bulgarian Association of the Metallurgical Industry (BAMI), and members of the defence sector. The primary focus of the meeting was to explore concrete ideas and opportunities for implementing joint projects and establishing partnerships.
During the meeting Deputy Minister Lazarova underscored the importance of active cooperation between the two sectors to ensure supply chain security and enhance strategic autonomy in the context of global challenges.

The discussion included presentations and dialogue on the potential for the production of specialised goods, as well as the restoration of manufacturing capabilities in critical sectors. “Metallurgical companies have a real opportunity to collaborate with defence enterprises within industrial consortia,” Deputy Minister Lazarova stated.
Representatives of the metallurgical and defence industries expressed their appreciation to the Ministry of Economy and Industry for its support. They emphasised that the Ministry’s active engagement with the sector is of great significance and plays a key role in fostering its sustainable development and prosperity.
