France is among Bulgaria’s leading trading partners in Europe. In recent years, the trade between Bulgaria and France has been close to EUR 3 billion per year, with an increase both in exports to France and in imports. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Nikolay Pavlov at an event of the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) on the occasion of the awarding of the Chamber’s Yearbook for 2024/25.
During the event, Deputy Minister Pavlov stressed that French companies are among the largest investors and employers in Bulgaria. ‘In the past year we have a positive trend of consolidating the presence of French companies in Bulgaria, which are increasing their investments in the country’, he said. According to him, in recent years the business has been faced with exceptional challenges, but despite this there has been interest from French companies for joint economic activity and intensive interaction with Bulgarian partners.
Deputy Minister Pavlov assured that the friendship between the two countries and the good economic relations will remain in the future. ‘I believe that in the future we will consolidate our long-standing cooperation and shared values in areas such as energy, infrastructure construction, automotive, mechanical engineering, innovation, food industry, organic farming and others.
