Deputy Minister Nikolay Pavlov: We are working to build a competitive industry by introducing new technologies

The Ministry of Economy and Industry supports companies that create conditions for expert and quality training of personnel in Bulgaria

The Ministry’s policy is aimed at building a competitive industry by introducing new technologies, innovations and stimulating innovative companies. Achieving this priority is impossible without the availability of skilled personnel in high-tech sectors, such as the information and communication technology sector. This was said by Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Nikolay Pavlov at the Annual Closing Ceremony of the Huawei ICT Talents Scholarship Program and the Training Seeds For The Future Program. In his words, the Ministry of Economy and Industry will continue to support all initiatives of the companies related to the development of the young generation and the creation of conditions for expert and quality training of the personnel in the country.

During the event, students from the country who participated this year in the two programs of Huawei Technologies Bulgaria, which focus on young talents in the field of information technology and their future development, were awarded.

Deputy Minister Pavlov congratulated the Bulgarian graduates, who performed the best among all European participants. He welcomed their aspiration to gain valuable experience in the field of information and communication technologies, to enrich their digital and leadership skills that will help their future career development.

‘Quality education must be accessible to all young people so that they can gain practical skills to be competitive in the increasingly digitalized business environment,’ Deputy Minister Nikolay Pavlov said.

The event was also attended by the General Manager of Huawei Technologies Bulgaria Terry Li, the Acting Ambassador of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China — Ms. Wang Min; correspomding member Prof. Evdokia Paseva, Vice President of BAS, experts from the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Transport, rectors and professors from partner universities, as well as representatives of business and industry.
