The Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry and Industry, Nikolay Pavlov, took part in the sixth edition of the Innovation Awards competition, organised by the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
During the official ceremony, Deputy Minister Pavlov emphasised that Bulgaria has a well-educated and highly qualified workforce, as well as traditions in the educational and scientific fields, which provide significant potential for the development of modern technologies. He focused on the government’s commitment to improving the business environment, accelerating the investment process, increasing the efficiency of investments and simplifying the requirements for future projects.
“Innovation policy is a key factor for stimulating the country’s economic growth, maintaining the competitiveness of the Bulgarian economy, creating better jobs and improving the quality of life,” Pavlov emphasised. He also noted that innovation is the basis of the transition to a green and digital economy.
Innovation Awards competition aims to encourage entrepreneurial activity and demonstrate the importance of innovation for the development of the economy and society. This year’s winners in the different categories are:
Innovation Category: Wiser Technology for the RoadSense development;
Excellence Category: Proxiad;
Businesswoman and Businessman of the Year Category: Vesela Ilieva, Partner and Managing Partner at Unique Estates, and Jesus Caballero, Chief Executive Officer of Sof Connect;
Special Jury Prizes: Kolev & Kolev and the Kinetik Automotive start-up;
Innovative Start-up Category: Capto.
