Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Nikolay Pavlov participated in an information event, with which the Executive Agency ‘Bulgarian Accreditation Service’ celebrated its professional holiday and World Accreditation Day.
‘Executive Agency ‘Bulgarian Accreditation Service’ has been an essential and important part of the quality infrastructure of the Bulgarian economy for more than a quarter of a century’, the Deputy Minister noted in his address. He described the Agency’s role as crucial in finding efficient solutions to the new challenges of cyber security, a reliable and competent watchdog to meet all the needs of business, society and government.
Deputy Minister Pavlov highlighted the results of the Agency’s activities in the last 4 years —over 2500 audit assessments, over 600 accredited bodies, over 10 million leva from accreditation fees paid to the state budget. The data are proof that, thanks to its highly qualified team, the Bulgarian Accreditation Service guarantees a high level of performance in all areas related to accreditation.
He cited the theme of this year’s World Accreditation Day, ‘Accreditation: We rule tomorrow and shape the future’, and expressed his confidence that the BAS will continue to be a key pillar of a sustainable future for the national and global economy to achieve prosperity and security for business and society as a whole.
During the event, the Vice-Rector of University of National and World Economy Prof. Dr. Tsvetana Stoyanova presented the results and challenges of the implementation of the joint master’s program between The University of National and World Economy and Executive Agency ‘Bulgarian Accreditation Service’ ‘Accreditation and Conformity Assessment’ launched this year.
Congratulations to the team of Executive Agency ‘Bulgarian Accreditation Service’ were addressed by the Presidents of the International Accreditation Forum Dr. Emanuele Riva, the International Association for Laboratory Accreditation Etti Feller, the European Accreditation Organization Maureen Logghe, representatives of the accreditation community in Bulgaria
