Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Nikolay Pavlov took part in the sixth meeting of the Bulgarian-Azerbaijani Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation, held in Baku. Co-chairperson on the Bulgarian side is the Minister of Energy Vladimir Malinov. During the meeting the delegations of the two countries discussed the opportunities for expanding economic ties and intensifying trade relations between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the forum, Deputy Minister Pavlov expressed the Bulgarian government’s readiness to work for improving the economic interaction between the two countries, diversifying trade beyond the known commodity groups, as well as promoting investment opportunities.
Within the framework of the event, Deputy Minister Nikolay Pavlov held bilateral meetings with Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Anar Akhundov and Deputy Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency Tural Hajili.
During the talks, the sides discussed opportunities to develop trade and economic relations in order to expand the spectrum of trade between the two countries, as well as to strengthen partnership with economic and free zones. Opportunities for expanding investment cooperation between the two countries were also discussed.
It was agreed to hold business visits and forums to contribute to the development of business contacts between the two countries, with the ultimate aim of promoting opportunities and developing economic relations between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan.
