Deputy Minister Pavlov participates in a forum to attract highly qualified personnel for business

Deputy Minister for Economy and Industry Nikolay Pavlov participated in a National Business Forum on the topic ‘Workforce from third countries in support of Bulgarian business’.

The problem with the lack of highly qualified staff on the market is worrying, it is a brake on the opportunities of our economy to grow and be competitive, Pavlov told the forum.

He recalled that at the end of last year the Ministry of Economy and Industry initiated an analysis of the possibilities to simplify the procedures for hiring qualified personnel from third countries. The document was developed and adopted by the Economic and Social Council a week ago.

Deputy Minister Pavlov also reminded about the initiative of the Ministry of Economy and Trade to help the process of recruiting highly qualified staff from third countries.

A few days ago, the government adopted the procedure for commissioning and using the automated platform for issuing work permits, the so-called Blue Card, the deputy minister recalled.

‘This platform will digitise processes and will largely meet what the business is looking for’, Pavlov said.

The National Business Forum was attended by MPs, representatives of the Migration Directorate, the Employment Agency, employers and others.
