Deputy Minister Shotev: The conceptual project for a new industrial zone in Stara Zagora will be ready by the end of the year

By the end of this year the conceptual project for the construction of a new industrial zone in the area of the Stara Zagora airport will be ready, which will provide opportunities for the creation of new jobs. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Ivaylo Shotev in Stara Zagora during a discussion on “Future for Maritsa East Energy Complex – Prospects and Challenges”, organized by the Mayor of the municipality.

Deputy Minister Shotev said that the construction of the new industrial zone in Stara Zagora is a priority for the Ministry of Economy and Industry. The aim is to create new opportunities and new business and to attract companies to offer more opportunities for people to work and develop locally.

“The Ministry’s efforts are aimed at creating zones with good infrastructure and a suitable environment for investors to create more new, well-paid jobs, which the region needs,” Ivaylo Shotev said.

He added that the Ministry of Economy and Industry will play an active role in the process of transforming the economy in the region.

The National Company of Industrial Zones will be the operator of the structure, which together with the municipality will develop the potential of the site designated for the new zone. After the preparation of the main project for the zone, all procedures for expropriation, construction of infrastructure, etc. will start, the Deputy Minister explained.

The forum was also attended by Krasimir Nenov and Iva Petrova, Deputy Ministers of Energy, Ginka Mashova-Stancheva, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy, Angelina Boneva, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, the Head of the Region of Stara Zagora Iva Radeva, the MEP Angel Dzhambazki, representatives of trade unions, elected representatives working in mines and power plants, representatives of business and other interested organizations and citizens.
