There is a stabilisation of prices in the consumer basket
Our economy will continue to grow at a rate above the European average. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Economy Ivaylo Shotev in the programme ‘Crossroads’ on Nova TV.
He explained that he did not support the initiative for a boycott of Austrian goods. ‘I think it’s a function of emotion. We, as Bulgarians, know and believe that we have long been ready to be part of Schengen. We cannot be treated as second-class citizens or economic entities. What we are seeing is a return of confidence in our country,’ he said.
Shotev pointed out that the Austrian business in Bulgaria is the second largest investor. ‘They support a significant amount of jobs. It is important and good for them that our country becomes part of the Schengen area’, he added.
Industrial production per year is falling, the NSI said. But the World Bank adjusted its data and expects higher growth for Bulgaria. Based on this information, the prospects for our country are extremely good, Shotev says.
‘We believe we will continue to grow above the European average. I believe we are sending the right signals not only to our European partners, but also to Bulgarian business. The fact therefore is the existence of a regular cabinet. For the first time in many years, we have a budget adopted and on time. This gives an additional peace of mind and perspective, and in this regard, expectations are for continued growth,’ he added.
The deputy minister explained that there is a stabilization of prices in the consumer basket. As well as that the ‘Affordable for you’ campaign is working and more and more partners are joining it.
