Deputy Minister Shotev: Record investments for 2023, nearly BGN 7 billion

This was said by Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Ivaylo Shotev, who participated in a meeting at the University of Food Technologies (UFT) in Plovdiv, together with the Minister of Innovation and Growth Milena Stoicheva, companies from the Trakia Economic Zone (TIZ) and representatives of universities in the city.

The meeting discussed how to bridge the gap between the thinking and understanding of the development of an educational and scientific organization and what is the pace of development and the challenges facing business in our country.

‘We are working for a better relationship between the state, business and education, to ensure a predictable environment in which companies can develop, the Deputy Minister of Economy said. He pointed out that it is important to get feedback from the business sector to be clear about the problems and challenges it faces.

According to him, there is no need to invest in huge facilities in the universities themselves where the specialists can be trained. ‘It is enough for them to go on site to enterprises and factories that have the best quality and modern equipment,’ Shotev stressed.

He pointed out that the Ministry of Economy and Industry is working with businesses by helping to develop economic zones and parks where they have access to prepared land and assisting companies in exploring potential partners and seeking new markets and contacts.
