Deputy Minister Shotev met with the representatives of the Association of Bulgarian Food Traders

Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Ivaylo Shotev held a meeting with representatives of the Association of Bulgarian Food Traders in Sofia. Pazardzhik. It was also attended by the Deputy Governor Mr. Stefan Dimitrov.

During the discussion an active and open dialogue was established between the representatives of the business and the executive. The difficulties faced by business were outlined, as well as the opportunities that the Ministry of Economy and Industry, through its available tools, can provide to support Bulgarian companies.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the ‘Affordable for you’ initiative. Deputy Minister Shotev stressed that the campaign is already yielding results and the prices of the basket of necessities are at the lowest possible prices.

The representatives of the Association of Bulgarian Food Traders pointed out the challenges that need to be overcome to ensure a better business environment in Bulgaria. According to them, efforts should be directed towards maximum simplification of administrative procedures, transparency in public procurement, as well as more European programmes for smaller traders.

Deputy Minister Shotev assured that he and the Ministry of Economy and Industry are already working to address challenges facing business in the country and told the participants in the discussion that the open dialogue will continue in the future.
