“El B Bulgaricum presents a new concept for one of the company’s key products
Food and beverage production in Bulgaria has been growing steadily in recent years and accounts for 17% of the industry’s value added. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Irina Shtonova at the official opening of the international specialized exhibitions “Meatmania”, “The Way of Milk”, “Bulpek”, “Interfood & Drink” and “Wine & Spirits Show”. They will continue until 11 November at Inter Expo Center in Sofia.
Shtonova also said that the food industry has great potential for creating jobs, attracting investment, and promoting small and medium-sized enterprises.
“This is a traditional industry for Bulgaria and its enterprises contribute to the economic and social development of every region of the country,” she added. Shtonova also informed that the industry currently employs over 6000 companies and 80 000 people. She also explained that most of the companies in the sector are export-oriented. “Reclaiming old markets and taking on new ones is vital for the industry,” Irina Shtonova added.
During the exhibition, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry visited the stand of the state-owned dairy company El B Bulgaricum. Shtonova talked with the CEO Ivaylo Lilov and employees of the enterprise. They presented that one of the company’s key products, LB VIT, is now being produced with a new concept — in a more consumer-friendly cut. “ELB Bulgaricum” is one of the companies in the State Consolidation Company, whose principal is the Ministry of Economy and Industry.
The opening of the international specialized exhibitions of the food industry at Inter Expo Center was also attended by the ambassadors of the USA and Italy — Kenneth Marten and Giuseppina Dzara, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Kiril Vatev, chairmen of branch organizations and others.
More than 400 Bulgarian and foreign companies from the entire food sector participate in the exhibitions.
