Deputy Minister Yakimov: Balkan Industrial Park is a Key Step Towards Attracting High-Tech Investment to Bulgaria

The development of Balkan Industrial Park is a continuation of our ambitions and policies for reindustrialization and the attraction of new investors delivering high value-added products. These words were spoken by Deputy Minister of Economy, Investment and Industry Krasimir Yakimov, who attended an event marking the development of Balkan Industrial Park in Lovech.

At the event, Deputy Minister Yakimov expressed confidence that projects such as Balkan Industrial Park create the necessary conditions for Bulgaria to establish itself as a preferred destination for major investment. “Projects of this kind are a sure foundation for Bulgaria to attract significant strategic investors who choose our country to launch or expand their manufacturing operations,” he noted.

The Government is also taking consistent steps to improve the investment climate. “We established a Central Coordination Council for Strategic Investment under the Council of Ministers – for the first time placing the investment process at the highest institutional and political level. This sends a clear signal to business: faster decisions, less bureaucracy, and far better coordination between institutions,” the Deputy Minister stressed.

He added that a large-scale administrative reform in support of business is being carried out in parallel. “We have already identified more than 230 measures to ease administrative procedures – from shortening certification timelines to accelerating permitting regimes. The goal is to make the investment process faster, more efficient and more predictable,” Deputy Minister Yakimov said.

In conclusion, Krasimir Yakimov wished the project success and assured that the state will continue to support its development. “You have the backing of the Bulgarian Government. We will do everything possible to create the necessary conditions for high-technology investments and high value-added production to be realized here as soon as possible,” he added.
